Built at Charlton Park Estate in Malmesbury, England, this biogas facility utilizes anaerobic digestion and membrane technology to produce biomethane, or biogas. This renewable natural gas is supplied via the UK’s gas grid, promoting decarbonization and energy security. The remaining material, digestate, is pasteurized and applied as organic biofertilizer on the estate’s land.
