Manure
Manure, liquid or solid and from cattle, pigs or poultry, is a common base feedstock for anaerobic digestion. Digesting it also avoids the methane released from open manure storage.
How HoSt digests manure
Manure often carries sand and grit. HoSt GiantMix slow-moving paddle mixers keep grit in suspension so it leaves with the digestate rather than building up. Nitrogen-rich manures such as poultry are dosed with care and balanced through co-digestion to limit ammonia inhibition.
End products
In co-digestion with energy-rich streams, manure supports biogas for heat and power, or biomethane and bio-CNG for grid injection and transport, plus biofertiliser from digestate.
