Microferm biogas plant in Koudum, Netherlands
Green gas from liquid manure
Local biogas and biomethane production at a dairy farm in Koudum – located in the North Friesland region of the Netherlands. The biogas plant, a Microferm, produces biomethane from manure through anaerobic digestion and biogas upgrading. The biogas upgrading plant produces up to 40 Nm3/h of biomethane with an efficiency of 99.5%.
Biomethane production on a Dutch dairy farm
The micro-digester on the dairy farm in Koudum, the Netherlands, utilizes manure and produces biomethane. This leads to a reduction in the CI score, increased sustainability and additional income for the dairy farmer.

Realization of the project
This project was realized with Jumpstart, an initiative of FrieslandCampina. This initiative supports dairy farmers who want to realize a mono manure fermentation plant on their farms. The biogas plant provided by HoSt is a turnkey biogas plant with a short construction time of just nine months.
