Microferm biogas plant in Koudum, Netherlands
Green gas from manure
Local biogas and biomethane production at a dairy farm in Koudum – located in the northern Friesland region of the Netherlands. The biogas plant, a Microferm, produces biomethane from manure via anaerobic digestion and biogas upgrading. The biogas upgrading system produces up to 40 Nm3/hr of biomethane with an efficiency of 99,5%.
Biomethane production at a Dutch dairy farm
The microferm at the dairy farm in Koudum, the Netherlands utilizes manure and generates biomethane. Resulting in a lowering of the CI-score, increased sustainability, and additional income for the dairy farmer.
This project was realized with Jumpstart, an initiative of FrieslandCampina. This initiative facilitates dairy farmers who want to realize a mono-manure digester plant on their farms. The biogas facility provided by HoSt is a turnkey biogas plant, with a short construction time of only nine months.
