Biomass and RDF / waste as fuel
HoSt steam boiler plants have a large range of fuel versatility. And are capable of handling fuels from RDF to large particles of up to 35 cm with varying moisture contents from 10% to 60%. Even fuels with a low ash melting point or high chlorine or sulfur content can be utilized.

At HoSt, we specialize in the design and turnkey supply of industrial water tube steam boiler plants of 8-25MW for biomass and 10- 20MW for RDF. The watertube boilers are known for the fact that they can fire anything. For the lower end of our capacity range we also offer a fire tube boiler ranging from 8-15MW which is lower in price, but has his limitations on the fuel quality. Our steam boiler technology focuses on efficient and sustainable steam production. Carbon capture technology is easily integrable for cleaner flue gases and bio-CO2 production.
For industrial heating and processes, HoSt’s steam boiler systems are vital, offering consistent, optimal performance across various sectors. The produced steam can be used to supply steam for industrial steam networks in chemical clusters, to provide steam for any kind of factory that consumes steam for their processes, to replace a fossil fuel boiler in an existing power plant or CHP, for the distillation and sterilization processes of the food and beverage industry, the drying processes for example in the paper and packaging industry, and textile industry. Highly efficient water tube steam boilers
The steam boiler plant design prioritizes efficiency andreliability from generating steam out of low grade biomass / RDF. Advanced combustion control, a high level of automation, boiler design and online steam soot blowing result inminimized boiler and furnace fouling and thus a very high yearly uptime of the plant. Efficiency is enhanced by achieving a low flue gas outlet temperature, minimal O2 content in the flue gases. This approach ensures reliable steam production from high ash contents biomass or RDF. District heating & steam supply in Osijek, Croatia
In Osijek, Western Croatia, HoSt built a hot water steam boiler plant, commissioned by Hrvatska Elektroprivreda (HEP). This facility, alongside another in Sisak, utilizes wood waste from Osijek region to deliver hot water to the city’s district heating, supply steam to local industries, and feed electricity to the grid. While maximizing energy utilization, this project saves around 30 million m3 of natural gas annually by replacing the natural gas boiler plant.
