Hot water boiler plant in the Netherlands

Renewable heat for greenhouses
A large number of greenhouses in Middenmeer, Netherlands are sustainably heated by the 19.6 MWth hot water boiler plant, turn-key built by HoSt for Energie Combinatie Wieringermeer (ECW), a fusion of Agriport greenhouse growers who want to contribute to a sustainable energy supply in the greenhouse horticulture area. The 15 MWth fire tube hot water boiler, in combination with the flue gas condenser, delivers a total of 19.6 MWth and ensures an efficiency of no less than 118%.
Project for ECW Energy
The greenhouse horticulture companies located on the Agriport site are not the only ones who invest in heating the greenhouses with renewable heat. A little further in the “Het Grootslag” area in Andijk, HoSt realized a 15 MWth biomass combined heat and power plant. HoSt owns and operates this installation in this ‘Energy as a Service’ model and supplies renewable heat to six greenhouse horticultural companies.
