Modern CHP plant
HoSt’s boiler plant portfolio includes modern medium-sized biomass-fired combined heat and power (CHP) plants to produce heat and power. Our industrial cogeneration facilities range from 1 MW to 10 MW electricity and boiler sizes start at 10MW and go up to 25MW. For capacities above 7 MWe, a double boiler line can be provided. The installations anticipate a 25-year lifetime. Carbon capture technology is easily integratable to capture CO2 and produce gaseous bioCO2 or food-grade liquid CO2 combined with CO2 liquefaction.
Efficient design
Boiler and furnace placed next to each other for a low building height. All components are self supporting and standing on a concrete, flat floor. Furthermore these self supporting components are build in a modular way and build in the factory allowing a fast and efficient construction time on the project site.
This design stands out for its compact structure, cost efficiency, and reduced foundational loads. A unique design compared to traditional boilers build on top of a firing grate. This approach mitigates structural height, high foundational loads, and subsequent civil work expenses. The HoSt design guarantees ease of access and efficient maintenance.
High efficiency & availability
Electrical efficiency of over 25% can be achieved through a high-pressure steam boiler and a multistage turbine. Installations boast over 8,400 annual running hours, with >96% availability. Optimal combustion control enhances efficiency, with over 130% overall efficiency when paired with a flue gas condenser. The boiler design enables steam production up to 480°C and 90 bar. Operational costs are minimized via robust design, quality equipment from renowned European manufactures, high availability, high level of automation and limited maintenance intervals. Sustainable greenhouses in Bemmel
Turnkey supplied and owned and operated by HoSt, this biomass-fired heat and power plant has replaced the previous gas boiler plant. This project in Bemmel, Netherlands enables greenhouse horticulturists to save 23 million m3 of natural gas each year. By converting NTA8080-certified wood waste into heat and power with an impressive 125% yield, it outperforms coal plants by 3-4 times. The best available cleaning technology is applied. This results in the lowest emissions ever measured at these types of cogeneration plants.
